The Last King of Scotland is a 2006 British-American historical drama film based on the novel of the same name by Giles Foden. The film follows a young Scottish doctor, Nicholas Garrigan, who becomes the personal physician to Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. Garrigan soon finds himself caught up in Amin's increasingly violent and oppressive regime, and must find a way to escape with his life.
